The purpose of our school program is, of course, to spread the word of Ella's Wool throughout communities that we think will benefit. We want as many parents as possible to discover Ella's Wool.
Naturally, then, we are eager to have Ella’s Wool show up all over the place, so if you like what we do, we hope you will share that with everyone.
However, we want to ask you to share the discounts in a way that they won't be easily found on Google or submitted to the many coupon sites out there, because that actually interferes with our other efforts to market Ella's Wool.
So, here are a few suggestions for how to share your exclusive discount codes, and one requests for how not to share.
We encourage you to share …
In printed handouts and flyers. We'd be happy to send you something about Ella's Wool that prominently shows your discount code, so you can print it out and distribute it.
On posters. We have a series of one-pagers with advice on how to dress children for the winter. If you print them out, they may work well as posters. Ask us for help with choosing the right file and adding your discount code to the poster.
In email newsletters and newsgroups. If you have an email newsletter that goes out to your community, that is the perfect place to share your discount.
In members-only areas. Many websites have a members-only area that requires logging in. Also, private groups on Facebook, Google, or various messaging apps are good places to share the love.
In impermanent social media. While many posts on your Facebook profile seem to hang around forever, certain types of content – like posts on Snapchat or Instagram stories – are made to be short-lived. That's a great place to post something like this.
By word of mouth. Just telling people about it, face to face, is of course wonderful.
The only thing we want to ask you not to do…
Please don't share on public websites – your own or others' – where they can easily be found by Google and other search engines.
Don't be afraid to make mistakes, though. Every so often a discount code will break out, and it won't cause irreparable harm of any kind. It is more inconvenient than anything else.
If we see that a rogue discount is interfering with our other efforts, and we can't put the genie back in the bottle, we will simply have to cancel the code so that it stops working for everyone, and issue you a new one.
